A new educational initiative titled UK-Ukraine School Collaborations has been launched under the century-long agreement between Ukraine and the UK.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announced the program, which commenced in April 2025.
This initiative connects educational institutions from both countries in long-term partnerships focused on the theme of 'Cultivating a Love for Reading'.
The primary goal is to promote cultural exchange, enhance language skills, and foster cooperation between students and teachers.
The first participants included 15 schools from Ukraine and 15 from the UK.
During the 2025-2026 period, a total of 100 educational institutions will be involved, with 50 from each country.
Subsequent groups of partner schools will begin their activities in the fall of 2025.
Partner schools will collaborate on educational projects for a minimum of 4-6 months, with the possibility of extension.
They will utilize resources provided by the British Council as well as their own educational materials.
Participation in the program will allow students and teachers to gain a deeper understanding of each other's cultures and actively use English in communication.
Educators will have opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement.
Ukrainian students temporarily in the UK will be able to maintain connections with Ukrainian culture through this program.
This initiative is part of the 100-year partnership agreement between the two countries and is being implemented in collaboration with Ukraine’s Ministry of Education.
