The Museum of the History of Kyiv has announced the passing of its director, Diana Popova.

It is noted that Diana took over the museum during the challenging times that began with the war in Ukraine.

She had been battling a long-term illness and started chemotherapy in 2022. In March 2025, she shared that she was going through some of the toughest weeks of her life.

Quote: "She faced the challenges of these difficult times with dignity, pouring her energy into the museum, garnering support, and inspiring her team to make the museum's projects vibrant and memorable!".

Additional information: Previously, she was the head of the Cultural Department of the Kyiv City State Administration and had a background in business. Diana was 48 years old.
