The Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv City State Administration, in collaboration with the Educational Agency of Kyiv, has produced a new documentary anthology titled «Kyiv Education. War Notebook», which focuses on the educational sector of the capital during the full-scale war. The premiere took place at the Boris Grinchenko Kyiv University during the final board meeting of the Department.

«We take pride in how Kyiv educators managed to organize the learning process amid rocket attacks, power outages, and lack of heating. We are currently working together to create a modern, energy-independent, and safe education system ready to face any challenges. This film is about us, our city, and our resilience. Let it serve as a symbol of gratitude to every teacher, every leader, and every worker in the education sector who did not give up and who makes the impossible happen every day,» stated Valentina Mondryi, Deputy Head of the KCSA, during his opening remarks.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, 156 educational institutions have been damaged in Kyiv. The film captures touching stories of educators who defended their homeland, worked in shelters, evacuated children, assisted citizens and military personnel by sewing uniforms and preparing food, and continued teaching students even during active combat.

The 45-minute film narrates life and work under war conditions, the formation of unique safety and pedagogical experiences, and a new level of responsibility in the educational community.

A special segment of the film is dedicated to the memory of Badri Lolashvili, the late director of the Kyiv Educational Agency. In 2014, he defended Ukraine as part of the 72nd Brigade of the «Black Zaporizhians». After the full-scale invasion began, Badri rejoined the 72nd Brigade to defend Kyiv. He was killed in action on March 13, 2022, in Moschun. By the decision of the Kyiv City Council, his name has been  assigned to the Kyiv College of Art Design.
