The documentary produced by the Ukrainian service of "Radio Free Europe" regarding the tragedy in Bucha during the occupation has been awarded a gold medal at the New York Festivals 2025 film festival.

This film won in the "Human Rights" category, as reported by "Radio Free Europe".

The film "Bucha. The Murder of Self-Defense Fighter Pobihai" is a continuation of journalist Dmytro Juliay's investigation into the mass killings in Bucha in March 2022.

It thoroughly examines the circumstances of the shootings and identifies the Russian soldiers who may be involved in the execution of local self-defense fighter Oleksiy Pobihai.

The winners were announced on the evening of May 22 in New York during the virtual gala event Storytellers.

This year's laureates included Al Jazeera English, Voice of America, ABCTV, PBS, BBC, Deutsche Welle, and others.

It is worth noting that at the end of March 2025, the film by Ukrainian director Myroslav Chernov "2000 Meters to Andriivka" also received an award at the CPH:DOX documentary film festival in Denmark.
