Ceasefire Negotiations
Following negotiations in Saudi Arabia at the end of March, the USA and Ukraine agreed to discuss maritime security in the Black Sea.
At that time, discussions took place between delegations from the USA and Russia, where Russia demanded full control over the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions of Ukraine.
Subsequently, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested considering the idea of temporary international administration in Ukraine involving the UN, USA, European countries, and Russia’s partners.
The Kremlin leader reiterated his claims about the alleged illegitimacy of President Volodymyr Zelensky and other governing bodies in Ukraine.
The UN then stated that Ukraine has a “legitimate government that should be respected.”
US President Donald Trump also rejected the Kremlin's idea of temporary administration in Ukraine.
