The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (MFA) has voiced its stance in response to comments made by U.S. Congresswoman Victoria Spartz, who urged Ukrainians to “accept” territorial losses.
Georgiy Tikhiy, the MFA spokesperson, emphasized that “all our lands have always been and will remain Ukrainian.”
The MFA's response came after Spartz's interview with The Telegraph, where she stated that Ukrainians should “come to terms with the transfer of their territories to Russia” and expressed confusion over Ukraine's demands for territorial integrity.
“Unlike Victoria, all our lands will always remain Ukrainian,” noted Tikhiy.
It is worth mentioning that Spartz's position on supporting Ukraine has changed. Initially a strong advocate for aid, she voted against a $61 billion aid package last year, accusing the Ukrainian government of corruption without evidence.
President Zelensky stated that no side will win on the battlefield in this war.
In February, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara.
President Zelensky stressed that no side can win this war through weaponry, asserting that a shift to diplomacy must “lead to a just peace.”
The issue of territories occupied by Russia is a key concern in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Trump's special envoy noted that the goal of negotiations between the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia is to achieve a 30-day ceasefire, although Russia systematically violates it.
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the 30-day ceasefire will depend on a strong response from the U.S. to Russia's attempts to stall negotiations.
