Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the appointment of a new ambassador to Norway. Oleksiy Gavrysh has been designated as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador.
This decree, numbered 218/2025, was published on the official website of the president on April 7, according to "European Truth".
The document states: "To appoint Oleksiy Petrovych Gavrysh as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway".
Oleksiy Gavrysh is a businessman with expertise in strategic and corporate governance in the energy sector and investment activities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that he has relevant experience in the Norwegian direction and is a specialist in energy issues.
The position of the Ukrainian ambassador in Norway has been vacant since the summer of 2022, when President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the previous ambassador, Vyacheslav Yatsyuk, after six years of service.
