In the heart of Europe, Brussels, an important meeting took place between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez.
The leaders explored strategies for joint actions in negotiations with the team of the US President, aiming to achieve a just peace. President Zelensky emphasized the need for Europe to be involved at every stage, as peace must ensure Ukraine's sovereignty and European security.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to Sanchez for steadfast military support, particularly for the decision to provide missiles for IRIS-T, as well as participation in the PURL and SAFE initiatives. Urgent needs, especially the strengthening of air defense, were also discussed.
The President pointed out that Spain actively supports all EU sanctions against Russia. Ukraine expects the 20th package to include stringent measures against the Russian banking sector, shadow fleet, dual-use technologies, as well as oligarchs and propagandists.
The leaders also focused on Ukraine's efforts towards EU membership, which is a crucial element for security guarantees.
