The primary focus is on air defense systems, munitions, and critical spare parts from U.S. stockpiles.
In an interview with Public Broadcasting, NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Šekerinska stated this.
By the end of the year, Ukraine is set to receive military equipment worth about $5 billion through the rapid assistance mechanism PURL.
According to her, it is through PURL that Ukraine acquires the most critically needed systems — primarily air defense, as well as munitions and parts.
«A significant portion of air defense assets is coming to Ukraine via PURL — this is literally a matter of life and death,» emphasized Šekerinska.
She noted that logistics are operating continuously through hubs in Poland and Romania. Funding for aid packages is provided by European allies and Canada, with Australia and New Zealand also joining the initiative.
NATO acknowledges that despite substantial supplies, Ukraine's demand for air defense remains high. The defense industry of alliance countries is ramping up production to address this shortfall.
