Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani emphasized that his country will continue to assist Ukraine until peace is restored. According to The Epoch Times,
"Italy will keep offering support to Ukraine until peace is achieved, but we hope that soon there will be no need to send weapons to Kyiv," he stated.
Tajani also mentioned that he recently reiterated to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Italy supports U.S. efforts to achieve a ceasefire.
"Negotiations are ongoing. We are working to end this terrible period that has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths. Italy is doing everything possible to support peace initiatives, but until peace is established, we will continue to aid Ukraine," the minister stressed, referring to the new aid package for Ukraine.
According to Tajani, Russian leader Vladimir Putin must demonstrate his willingness to end the war "not with words but with actions, as only those matter."
Italy is preparing the 12th military aid package for Ukraine, focusing on munitions and missiles for the SAMP/T air defense system.
