Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met in Brussels to discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defense system. Shmyhal reported via Telegram that additional air defense systems and missiles are needed to counter the missile and drone threats posed by Russia.
The meeting also addressed the frontline situation and the crucial needs of Ukraine's Armed Forces.
The parties emphasized the importance of the PURL initiative, which is critical for ensuring stable supplies.
Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the NATO Secretary General for his leadership and support, highlighting that Ukraine continues to adapt its defense sector to NATO standards and implement joint projects with partners.
It is worth noting that during his visit to Brussels, Shmyhal participated in the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting, where joint actions to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine and all of Europe were discussed.
