Radmila Šekerinska, the NATO Deputy Secretary General, has arrived in Kyiv. Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiga discussed ways to increase contributions to the PURL initiative and Ukraine's urgent needs during their meeting. The minister shared this information on social media X.
“It was a productive meeting with Radmila Šekerinska where we thoroughly discussed Ukraine-NATO cooperation, peace efforts, and strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities. I informed her about the consequences of Russia's night strikes and our priorities concerning enhancing air defense and other capabilities”, - noted the minister.
Sybiga expressed gratitude to the Deputy Secretary General for standing in solidarity with the Ukrainian people amidst Russian terror.
Both parties agreed that Russian strikes contradict the peace efforts led by the United States and President Trump. They also discussed further steps in the peace process.
“I appreciate the Deputy Secretary General's confirmation of her readiness to make every effort to strengthen Ukraine both at the diplomatic table and on the battlefield. We focused particularly on the very effective NATO PURL initiative and ways to increase contributions to it. I look forward to participating in the upcoming Ukraine-NATO ministerial council meeting”, - the minister concluded.
