In recent talks held in Geneva, Ukraine and the United States prepared a new document concerning the peace process. This was reported via Telegram by Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and leader of the Ukrainian delegation.
On November 23, representatives from the U.S. and Ukraine met in Geneva to discuss the American peace proposal. The negotiations were constructive, focused, and marked by mutual respect, highlighting a shared commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace.
Yermak noted that both sides considered the consultations extremely productive. The discussions showcased significant progress in aligning positions and outlining clear next steps.
The parties reaffirmed that any future agreement must fully respect Ukraine's sovereignty and ensure a stable and just peace. Following the negotiations, the parties prepared an updated and refined framework document on peace, emphasized the head of the Office of the President.
The Ukrainian delegation once again expressed gratitude to the United States, particularly President Donald J. Trump, for unwavering dedication and tireless efforts aimed at ending the war and preserving human lives, stated Yermak.
According to him, Ukraine and the United States agreed to continue intensive work on joint proposals in the coming days. They will also maintain close contact with European partners as the process progresses.
Final decisions regarding this framework document will be made by the presidents of Ukraine and the U.S., reported the head of the Ukrainian delegation.
Both sides confirmed their readiness to continue working together towards achieving peace that would guarantee security, stability, and recovery for Ukraine, stressed Yermak.
It is worth noting that President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on November 22 to create a delegation for negotiations with the U.S. and other international partners, as well as representatives of the Russian Federation to achieve a fair and sustainable peace. Yermak led the delegation.
Earlier, American media reported that the Trump administration conducted secret consultations with the Kremlin to develop a new plan for ending the war in Ukraine.
An Axios publication revealed that this plan consists of 28 points divided into four main categories: peace in Ukraine, security guarantees, security in Europe, and future relations between the U.S. and Russia and Ukraine.
Zelensky, after a conversation with U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance, stated that Ukraine, the U.S., and Europe would work at the advisor level to make the path to peace truly workable.
Trump confirmed that his administration set November 27 as the deadline for Ukraine to agree to the White House's plan for ending the Russian war.
