The German Minister of Economy, Kateryna Reiche, has arrived in Kyiv. According to Reuters,
Reiche is visiting during a time of intensified Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. 
"Ukraine is facing its fourth winter of war, and Russia has escalated its assaults on the country's energy supply, which poses significant threats to electricity and heating provision this winter," she stated upon her arrival in the Ukrainian capital.
Reiche emphasized the urgent need for assistance to restore and secure energy supplies, promising to explore how Germany can provide more concrete and effective support in this area during her visit.
In addition to restoring Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, a primary focus of the visit will be on expanding German-Ukrainian cooperation in defense.
"Security policy is always also an economic policy," Reiche said, adding that her aim is to foster closer ties between German and Ukrainian defense companies.
