Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to outline new steps for enhancing cooperation in the energy sector.
Zelensky stated, “We talked about how to strengthen our air defense and prepare for the upcoming Coalition of the Willing meeting in London.”
He informed Merz about the impacts of Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and the necessary measures for restoring energy supplies.
“We rely on Germany's strong leadership in supporting our energy needs, both in equipment and finance,” the President emphasized.
Zelensky highlighted the focus on solutions that can further bolster Ukraine's air defense. He expressed gratitude to Germany for its significant contribution to protecting Ukrainian lives and its willingness to continue assistance.
“We also discussed the mechanism for using frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine, and it is crucial that Germany supports these efforts,” the head of state concluded.
