One of the factors that irritated Donald Trump during his meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky was the fact that the Ukrainian president did not arrive in a suit.

Details: Trump's advisors repeatedly told Zelensky's team that it would have been more respectful for the Ukrainian president to avoid military-style clothing during his visit to the White House.
Zelensky arrived at the White House in a more formal black outfit adorned with the national emblem of Ukraine, but without a suit.
"He dressed up nicely today", – remarked Trump as he shook hands with Zelensky at the entrance to the West Wing.
Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Zelensky has not worn a suit. At one point, Polish President Andrzej Duda expressed a wish for Zelensky to attend a summit in a suit, symbolizing the end of the war.
In the Oval Office on Friday, one reporter asked Zelensky why he did not wear a suit for the meeting at the "highest level" of the United States.
"Why aren’t you in a suit? Do you own one?" – the journalist asked.
"Do you have a problem with that?" – Zelensky replied.
"Many Americans have issues with those who do not respect the dress code of the Oval Office", – the journalist responded.
Following this, Zelensky stated that he would wear a suit once the Russo-Ukrainian war comes to an end.
