G7 Ambassadors Meet Urgently to Discuss Energy Sector Support for Ukraine

G7 ambassadors held an urgent meeting to discuss support for Ukraine's energy sector after recent attacks.

On October 10, G7 ambassadors convened an urgent meeting with Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk and representatives from the energy sector. The focus was on providing assistance to Ukraine following recent Russian strikes on energy and civilian infrastructure. This was reported by the G7 ambassadors' group in Ukraine via social media platform X.
In addition to Hrynchuk, representatives from Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrenergo, and Energoatom were present at the meeting.
They discussed the Russian attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure and the necessary support for Ukraine in countering further threats and addressing urgent needs.

Background. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged international partners to respond decisively to the Russian attacks on critical civilian infrastructure that occurred overnight on October 10. EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katerina Maternova stated that the strikes on energy facilities in Ukraine constitute war crimes that cannot be forgiven.
