In Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Jonas Gahr Støre, the Prime Minister of Norway.
The President expressed gratitude to Norway for its support of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression, as well as for providing $8.5 billion in aid this year.
The leaders discussed continuing defense support, focusing particularly on strengthening air defense systems and funding for drone production in Ukraine.
A key focus of the meeting was countering Russian threats. Zelensky and Støre exchanged views on airspace violations involving drones in Norway, Poland, Denmark, Romania, and Estonia.
Additionally, they talked about the European Union initiative to create a “Drone Wall.” Ukraine is ready to share its experience in combating Russian drones and hybrid attacks.
They also paid special attention to the PURL initiative aimed at procuring weapons from the USA using partner funds. The President thanked Norway for being one of the first to join this program, contributing $150 million.
Moreover, the parties discussed energy support for Ukraine. The President expressed his gratitude to Norway for allocating $100 million for gas imports.
