President Welcomes New Ambassadors: A New Era of Cooperation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed new ambassadors from Cyprus, Latvia, and Pakistan, discussing key areas of cooperation.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has accepted the credentials from three newly appointed ambassadors: Michalis Firillas from Cyprus, Andris Pildigovics from Latvia, and Kanwar Adnan Ahmed Khan from Pakistan.

The head of state welcomed them to their diplomatic roles in Ukraine and engaged in brief discussions.

During the meeting with the Cypriot ambassador, Zelensky expressed gratitude for the support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for financial and humanitarian assistance.

They discussed important issues such as increasing sanctions against Russia, food security, and joint projects within the EU framework.

Additionally, they touched upon Ukraine's EU membership prospects and Cyprus's priorities during its presidency of the EU Council next year.

With the Latvian ambassador, Zelensky discussed defense assistance and the PURL initiative that enables Ukraine to purchase weapons from the USA.

Latvia will become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, and the ambassador assured support for Ukrainian interests.

Humanitarian aid, infrastructure recovery, and the treatment of Ukrainian soldiers remained crucial topics.

In discussions with the Pakistani ambassador, the President expressed condolences regarding the recent floods in Pakistan and offered assistance.

Zelensky and Kanwar Adnan Ahmed Khan explored the development of bilateral cooperation in defense, trade, and food security.
