Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a significant meeting with representatives from companies that are members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, discussing the necessity for support from the United States.
This information was confirmed by the Office of the President on the evening of July 2, as reported by "European Truth".
Among the attendees were representatives from Horizon Capital, Cisco Systems, Unilever, Carlsberg, Avrora Multimarket, Microsoft, KPMG, Winner Imports, Coca-Cola, Cargill, CHS, Citibank, AON, CBRE, OTIS, KBR.
Also present were representatives from Pfizer, Google, Baker Hughes, WTW, Wooden Horse, Parsons Corporation, Visa, AGCO, McDonald’s, Honeywell, ADM, Raytheon, MasterCard, Auterion, CRH, TechMet, Argentem Creek, Boeing, D&M Holding, IBM, Shield AI, and the President of the American Chamber of Commerce Andriy Hunder.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to American businesses for their presence in Ukraine, emphasizing that it signifies stability in the country. He noted that Ukraine appreciates all the support received from the USA.
"We are all uninterested in any signals regarding a reduction or slowdown of assistance from the USA. This concerns both American and Ukrainian businesses, as Patriot systems do not choose whom to protect." – the president remarked.
Andriy Hunder highlighted the resilience of Ukraine amidst the war, noting that 88 chamber members have relatives serving in the Armed Forces. He also reported that 53% of companies have suffered damage to their facilities and offices due to Russian shelling.
"One of the things we always ask the American government is to provide protection for American businesses operating here, including supplying Patriot missiles," – he stated.
The meeting participants emphasized the importance of continuing support and strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
As known, on July 1-2, American media reported that the Pentagon had suspended deliveries of some air defense missiles and other precision munitions to Ukraine due to concerns that US weapon stocks had become too low.
Later, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is "working at various levels" to clarify details with the USA regarding military aid following reports of the suspension of deliveries.
The WSJ reported that the Trump administration's decision to halt some military aid to Ukraine concerned weapons already stored in Poland.
