The Swedish International Development Agency has announced a new assistance package for Ukraine under the Tallinn mechanism.
This was reported by Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation on Facebook, as stated by "European Truth".
It is noted that Ukraine will receive over 590 million hryvnias from the Swedish agency Sida to bolster its cybersecurity efforts.
This new assistance package is being provided under the Tallinn mechanism – an international initiative coordinating support from 11 partner countries to strengthen cyber resilience.
The Ukrainian office states that the funds will be directed towards upgrading IT infrastructure, enhancing the protection of digital products, and training staff of key government institutions.
Sida's funding will be channeled through the Estonian Centre for International Development – a government fund of Estonia responsible for managing and implementing international development and humanitarian aid projects.
Recently, it was reported that the Swedish government is planning to review its economic assistance structure, which will free up an additional 1.67 billion Swedish kronor (approximately 150 million euros) for Ukraine and other humanitarian measures.
At the beginning of June, Sweden announced a contribution of 50 million euros for NATO projects NSATU (NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine) and NATO CAP (Comprehensive Assistance Package), which focus on training Ukrainian military personnel and supporting Ukraine.
Additionally, Sweden joined the "electronic warfare coalition" and became its co-chair at Germany's invitation.
