During an official visit to Ukraine, newly appointed German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul met with Interior Minister Igor Klymenko and delivered a new aid package for the Interior Ministry.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.

«I am pleased to be here and would like to express gratitude to the people and government of Germany for their support during this challenging time. For nearly 3.5 years, Ukraine has been fighting for its freedom, and we always feel the strong support of the German people. The assistance you provide is vital for preserving the lives of our citizens,» Klymenko emphasized.

He highlighted that, thanks to comprehensive support from Berlin, the Interior Ministry received resources to respond to threats, protect critical infrastructure, counter hostile drones, and document war crimes. He also expressed gratitude for assistance in radiation, chemical, and biological protection, which are critically important during recovery efforts after attacks on industrial sites.

Klymenko also noted Germany's provision of special equipment that aids in rescuing people during attacks.

«This equipment is used where it is most needed. Thank you for your support since the onset of the full-scale war. I believe our partnership will continue to strengthen,» he added.

Wadephul assured that Germany remains steadfast in its position and will continue to support Ukraine.

«For more than three years, Ukraine has been defending itself against the aggressor's war, and free Europe stands with you in this struggle. We are here to show that we unwaveringly stand by your side and will provide the necessary support for your security,» he stressed.

The parties reviewed the vehicles provided, which will be used to support border units and ensure the safety of civil infrastructure.
