The German Foreign Minister Johann Wedeful announced that he arrived in Kyiv with a delegation from the defense sector.

He made this statement during a press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sibiga in Kyiv on June 30, as reported by a correspondent from "European Truth".

Wedeful noted that during his visit, Germany and Ukraine agreed to enhance cooperation in the defense industry.

"We aim to establish new joint ventures so that Ukraine can produce more and faster for its defense, as your needs are substantial," he emphasized.

The German Foreign Minister also stated that this was the first time he brought a delegation from the defense industry with him.

"Our collaboration in defense is a significant advantage. It logically follows from our material supplies, and we can gain mutual benefits, as your ingenuity makes us better as well. We see our role as helping Ukraine negotiate from a position of strength," Wedeful stressed.

When asked about the specific collaboration in the defense sector he anticipates, Wedeful did not provide a direct answer.

"I believe we are entering a new phase of cooperation, and we need more German companies involved in Ukraine. There is a willingness, but we must overcome some hurdles, bureaucratic obstacles, and other issues in our collaboration," he stated.

Therefore, he mentioned he brought "defense industry representatives to the President of Ukraine so we could discuss these matters".

"I believe that closer cooperation on this issue aligns with the interests of both sides," he added.

Wedeful also emphasized: when Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin talks about peace – it is pure bluff.

"His supposed readiness for negotiations is just a facade. He wants, as he has explicitly stated, to conquer all of Ukraine and simultaneously intimidate all of Europe," he added.
