European Diplomats Honor Fallen Ukrainian Heroes in Lviv

EU diplomats visited Lviv to pay tribute to the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who lost their lives during the war.

On May 9, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and foreign ministers from European nations visited Lviv to honor the memory of Ukrainian heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence.

According to the source, "European Truth", Kallas shared a post on social media platform X highlighting the significance of this day.

Quote from the EU foreign policy chief: "Today, on Europe Day, we stand together with Ukraine and its people. In a family, we share joy and hardships. Alongside foreign ministers, we support Ukraine in its pursuit of lasting peace. We believe in a brighter future".

Additional details: European diplomats paid their respects at the Field of Honor at Lychakiv Cemetery, where fallen Ukrainian soldiers from the war with Russia are buried.

They were joined by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi.

Background:

Kaja Kallas previously announced that the "final approval" for a tribunal for Vladimir Putin would take place in Lviv on May 9.

The new German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul also arrived in Lviv the day before.
