Details: The virtual meeting included special representatives from the US President, Steven Witkoff and Keith Kellogg, the diplomatic advisor to the French President, Emmanuel Bonne, the national security advisor to the British Prime Minister, Jonathan Powell, and the foreign and security policy advisor to the German Chancellor, Günter Sautter.
Discussions also took place with diplomatic representatives from Northern European countries, the Baltic states, the European Council, and the European Commission.
Representing Ukraine were Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, Deputy Head of the President's Office Ihor Zhovkva, and advisors to the Head of the President's Office Daria Zarivna and Oleksandr Bevz.
"The main topic was the introduction of an unconditional and complete ceasefire for 30 days…
Yermak emphasized that a full and unconditional ceasefire should be the first step and a prerequisite for negotiations aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace", the statement said.
At the same time, the President's Office stressed that Vladimir Putin's proposal for a three-day truce aims only to ensure the security of the parade in Moscow, not to achieve peace.
Moreover, the negotiations addressed potential pressure mechanisms on Russia in case of refusal to accept the ceasefire proposal or violations of the agreements on total silence.
