As of the morning of April 21, electricity consumption in Ukraine has dropped by 12.6% compared to April 18.
According to NЕК “Ukrenergo”, the consumption of electricity in Ukraine continues to decline, as reported by Ukrinform.
“Today, April 21, at 9:30, the level was 12.6% lower than the previous working day. This is due to a non-working day declared by certain employers,” the agency quotes the company's message.
Additionally, sunny and warm weather across Ukraine is contributing to the reduced electricity consumption from the general grid.
Ukrenergo advises shifting active electricity use to the hours when solar power plants operate most efficiently, from 8:00 to 18:00.
It is worth noting that a week ago, on April 15, the official heating season 2024/2025 came to an end in Ukraine.
Heat supply was halted in all regions, but some social institutions, such as hospitals, kindergartens, and schools, will continue to receive heating under certain temperature conditions.
Regarding the frequency of Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy system during the heating season.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that the third heating season during the full-scale war has been successfully completed, despite numerous Russian attacks on the country's energy system.
He noted that during the 2024/2025 heating season, Russia carried out 9 massive and dozens of smaller attacks against the Ukrainian energy system.
“Despite all this, we stood firm. Homes of millions of Ukrainians, schools, and hospitals had light and warmth. Our enterprises also operated without significant restrictions,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
