According to a report by OpenDataBot, major landowners in Ukraine have reduced their land holdings by 8225.4 hectares over the past year.
The number of companies owning more than 100 hectares has decreased from 283 to 217, indicating a substantial drop. Of these, 34 companies are registered in temporarily occupied territories.
The largest land holdings belong to Agrofirm Svitank with over 5000 hectares and Druzhkivskyi Rudoupravlinnia with 3.3 thousand hectares. The third place is held by Zernyatko-Pivden with 2.7 thousand hectares.
Since January 2024, the land market has been opened to businesses. However, contrary to expectations, companies that owned significant land assets have begun to sell land instead of purchasing it. A total of 2,554 land parcels were sold in the year following the market opening.
As of March 18, 2024, Ukrainian companies have sold at least 1283 hectares of land, indicating a trend of selling rather than buying.
Over three years since the land market was opened in Ukraine, 567,000 hectares have been sold, with the most sought-after lands located in Poltava region.
