The juvenile police of Ukraine are collaborating with the railway company to prevent teenagers from engaging in dangerous activities such as train surfing.
Teens climb on train roofs, grab onto moving trains, and cross tracks in prohibited areas for a thrill.
This is not extreme; it poses real risks to life and health: fatal injuries, amputations, or electrocution.
From April 10 to May 10, 2025, a joint preventive campaign by the juvenile police and the railway company will kick off.
Throughout the month:
- we will visit schools and vocational institutions
- communicate openly and accessibly with children
- together with experts, explain why railways are not a playground!
What to do if you witness dangerous behavior by children on the railway?
If you are at a station and see children who are:
- trying to climb onto a train
- already on the roof
- playing near the tracks
Act immediately, but carefully.
Notify the station attendant or any railway employee.
Call the police (102) or emergency services (101) — professionals will respond swiftly.
Speak up or call out to children planning to engage in train surfing or already on the roof.
Document the incident and the individuals involved — this will assist in identification and parental notification.
Be vigilant with your children. Discuss the real risks with them!
