The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, along with the First Lady of France, Brigitte Macron, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, participated in the launch of the Ukrainian season in France.
Over the next four months, various cities in the country will showcase Ukrainian film, music, literature, visual arts, and theater.
«At this challenging time for Ukraine, during the fight for our existence, when our culture resonates abroad, we understand that we are not alone. And that the values we are defending now are shared by the entire civilized world. That is why culture is so important. It creates understanding through feelings, establishing dialogue even without words,» said the First Lady of Ukraine.
Olena Zelenska noted that during her visit to France, 12 French educational institutions joined the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, and 15 museums are implementing Ukrainian audio guides at leading world landmarks.
«Knowledge and culture can change even the most difficult times. The more we learn about each other and respect our differences, the better our world becomes,» concluded the wife of the President of Ukraine.
The organizers of the Ukrainian season include the French Institute and its office in Kyiv, the Ukrainian Institute and its representation in France, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, as well as the ministries of culture and the embassies of Ukraine and France.
