On Friday, November 21, China launched a new experimental spacecraft named «Shiyan-21» aimed at testing satellite communication technologies. This was reported by the country's central television CCTV.
The «Long March-3B» rocket lifted off from the Xichang launch site at 18:55 local time (12:55 Kyiv time), placing the satellite into low Earth orbit.
Details about the satellite remain undisclosed, but it is expected to be used primarily for testing communication, radio, and television technologies, as well as for related technical assessments.
This mission marks the 609th flight of the «Long March» rocket series.
China is actively enhancing its national space program, developing weather, telecommunications, and navigation satellites, alongside technologies for lunar exploration. With state support, Chinese experts are also implementing projects for asteroid and Mars exploration. In 2024, China conducted 68 space launches.
