Ukraine has introduced a new holiday - Children's Protection Day, celebrated on November 20, coinciding with Universal Children's Day.

This holiday was officially established by the Presidential Decree of Ukraine №355/2025 on May 30, 2025, and is celebrated annually.

Previously, this day was observed on June 1, according to the former Presidential Decree dated May 30, 1998, which is now void.

The Ministry of Defense stated that the Defense Forces are doing everything possible to protect children and their future. 

«Today, we honor the memory of children whose lives were taken by Russian terrorists. They were deprived of the chance to grow up in a peaceful country, to dream, and to enjoy childhood. It is our duty to seek justice for those who committed these inhumane acts. Our military works tirelessly every day to safeguard children and our future», - the statement reads.
