The Customs Service has clarified the recent outage in its systems. All primary customs servers are equipped with backup power supplies to ensure operational continuity. The failure occurred during an automatic switch-over. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Customs Service, Alevtina Topchieva, during a television broadcast.

«All main customs servers feature backup power systems that allow the system to function during power outages. In this case, the problem arose from the automatic switch-over between primary and backup power. The customs service has already conducted checks of the relevant systems, and additional equipment will be installed soon to enhance the reliability of backup power», Topchieva commented on the technical failure in the Customs Service database that occurred on November 8.

She added that due to voltage fluctuations and an emergency power outage, the automatic switch-over equipment was damaged. Specialists immediately began restoration work, and power supply was restored within a few hours. Currently, all systems are operating normally.

As a reminder, on November 8, due to the technical failure in the Customs Service database, border crossing operations at the state border of Ukraine were temporarily halted. Processing of citizens and vehicles for both entry and exit was suspended.
