In Ukraine, the gradual connection of heating supply to residential buildings has begun in 13 regions. The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development reports that "partial connections have been established in 13 regions, with others set to follow suit", said Deputy Minister Kostiantyn Kovalchuk.
Currently, over 55% of social institutions, including more than 5,000 kindergartens and nearly 6,000 educational establishments, are connected to heating. Additionally, over 2,000 healthcare facilities have received heat.
For the heating season to commence, more than 17,500 boiler houses and 17,000 kilometers of heating networks have been prepared, with 340 km being replaced and major repairs and boiler replacements conducted.
Kovalchuk noted that this heating season has started amid unprecedented attacks on energy infrastructure. Residential buildings, heating networks, and water supply systems are subjected to daily enemy shelling.
"We anticipate a challenging winter, but the technical readiness of the heating supply enterprises allows us to initiate the heating season. I thank all communities for their prudent and economical approach to the start of the heating season," he added.
