A new initiative aimed at assisting internally displaced persons was unveiled in the capital of Ukraine. The project, named "Shelter. Work," seeks to help IDPs find employment and housing, enabling them to integrate into their new communities. According to the Ministry of Social Policy, the platform features job listings that include housing options from employers and retraining programs.
"When individuals have proper living and working conditions, they become active members of society, pay taxes, and contribute to community development," said Minister of Social Policy Denys Uliutin.
Member of Parliament Halyna Yanchенко, the project's initiator, shared that the "Shelter. Work" program began at the onset of the war as a social media group, through which over a million Ukrainians found shelter.
"Initially, it was merely a way to find free housing, but now it offers people a chance to rebuild their lives," she added.
