Ukraine is prepared to sell domestically produced drones to the United States. In light of bilateral partnership programs, our country is also willing to provide these UAVs in exchange for American missiles. This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during a press briefing.
"Certainly, the USA has a robust industry capable of producing drones. However, battlefield experience is essential. They can manufacture drones, but they acknowledge that we lack practical experience, hence your drones are currently the best. Therefore, I indicated that we are ready not only to sell but also, considering our partnership, to receive your missiles in return," he stated.
The President noted that Ukrainian companies are willing to manufacture UAVs in the USA. Additionally, two aspects accompany the Mega Deal regarding the purchase of American weapons and the Drone Deal concerning Ukrainian drones.
"The Mega Deal encompasses various missiles and corresponding air defense systems. The Drone Deal includes all the other drones that we urgently need and some that we can export," added Volodymyr Zelensky.
It is worth mentioning that in the summer of 2025, the PURL initiative commenced, created jointly by NATO and the USA, aimed at rapid delivery of American weapons to Ukraine.
At the end of September, the President of Ukraine stated that several packages of American arms have already been financed within the PURL initiative. The first two aid packages under the program include missiles for the Patriot air defense systems and HIMARS rocket systems.
