The energy company "Ukrenergo" has completed all necessary preparations to ensure winter electricity consumption as of October 17.
This was stated by the chairman of the board of NEC "Ukrenergo", Vitaliy Zaychenko, during a meeting with representatives of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine.
"If it weren’t for the attacks from Russia, we could confidently say that there would be no complications during the heating season. Unfortunately, enemy strikes on energy facilities continue. Russia is once again attacking both generation and our substations", - said Zaychenko.
He emphasized the importance of dialogue with business and industry. Specifically, regarding the involvement of backup power systems owned by private individuals in the electricity market.
"This is crucial for accelerating the development of a distributed generation system, which is one of the key factors of our energy resilience", - added the head of "Ukrenergo".
According to data from companies producing electricity using gas turbine and gas piston plants, the growth of this type of generation in Ukraine this year, as of October, has reached 270%. There is also a noticeable increase in energy storage system volumes.
