Due to the repercussions of Russian attacks on the energy system, emergency power outages were implemented on the morning of October 17 in Kyiv and twelve other regions. However, these outages were later lifted in the capital and Kyiv region, as reported by the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" on Facebook.

"Due to the challenging situation in the energy system – emergency outages have been introduced in Kyiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, and partially in Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Vinnytsia regions. The reason for the restrictions is the aftermath of previous Russian strikes on energy infrastructure," the report states.

As noted at 10:26 in the DTEK Group's Telegram channel, the emergency power outages in the capital and Kyiv region have been canceled.

"Kyiv, Kyiv region: emergency outages canceled. We will inform you promptly in case of changes," the announcement reads.

Additionally, in the Chernihiv region, hourly power outages have been implemented in three phases due to the impacts of Russian attacks on the region's infrastructure over the past weeks. Emergency restoration works are ongoing.

Power limitation schedules for businesses and industries are in effect from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM across all regions of Ukraine.

As of the morning of October 17, several regions are experiencing power cuts due to a new Russian attack. Emergency restoration work began as soon as the security situation allowed.

It is also reported that as of 6:30 AM, electricity consumption in Ukraine was at the same level as the previous day, attributed to overcast and cold weather in most regions of Ukraine.

"Today, there remains a need for energy-saving practices. Please limit the use of high-power electrical devices and avoid using them simultaneously," advised the energy system operator.
