In the capital of Ireland, Dublin, a tragic incident occurred resulting in the death of a 17-year-old boy from Ukraine. Authorities have arrested another youth, a foreign national, whom they consider the main suspect.
Another 17-year-old boy from Ukraine was injured, along with a woman who reportedly worked at the facility where the incident took place, according to The Irish Times.
The attack happened on October 15, shortly after 11 AM at one of Dublin's complexes designated for emergency housing, particularly for people seeking international protection. Journalists claim that the complex was secured, with only residents having access.
Police reported that they found a severely injured teenager at the scene, who, despite the efforts of medical staff, later died.
"I returned home to chaos. People were running everywhere, some were covered in blood. Security was asking them if they were injured. The first thing I saw was the emergency response team (police) rushing into the apartments, followed by chaos.
One woman, who appeared to be a social worker, had blood on her hand. She didn’t realize she was injured until she washed her hands," said a resident of the Grattan Wood complex.
According to unnamed sources from The Irish Times, the teenager suffered multiple stab wounds to his head, arms, and upper body. Authorities believe the attacker used a knife or blade.
As a result of the incident, another 17-year-old teen was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening cut injury.
