In Kyiv, the reconstruction of the modern medical building of the NDSL «Okhmatdyt» is ongoing. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The works are being carried out both externally (facades, windows) and internally (finishing, engineering systems, lighting).
Specifically, the demolition of outdated facade systems on blocks B, C, and D has been completed, and the installation of new ones has begun (brackets, insulation, frameworks, and tile cladding). In total, the work covers an area of over 3 thousand m².
Additionally, 157 old window blocks were dismantled, and 217 new ones were installed, including duplicating structures (across all three blocks).
Simultaneously, the upgrading of internal spaces in three blocks is ongoing: work is being carried out on the dismantling and installation of ceilings, walls, reveals, and windows, updating drywall constructions, plastering, radiators, and lighting.
In each block, a full cycle of repairs is implemented to create a safe, modern, and comfortable environment for patients and medical staff. The work is organized in a way that allows the hospital to continue providing medical assistance to children without interruption.
The hospital has also set up a space for the Heroes School, where children can study during their treatment. The center operates under the patronage of the First Lady Olena Zelenska and is part of a nationwide network of educational centers in children's hospitals.
Recall that in the summer of 2024, Russians hit the Kyiv hospital «Okhmatdyt» with missiles. The security service reported that a fragment of the engine of the X-101 cruise missile was found at the scene of the tragedy.
