On Monday, October 13, China successfully launched a new experimental satellite designed to test visualization technologies. This was reported by the country’s central television, CCTV.
The satellite, named «Shiyan-31», was deployed into low Earth orbit by the «Long March-2D» rocket, which took off from the Jiuquan launch center in the Gobi Desert at 18:00 local time (13:00 Kyiv time).
Details about the satellite's specifications remain undisclosed, but it is known that it will be used to test new optical visualization technologies.
Today’s mission marked the 599th flight for the «Long March» rocket series. China is actively advancing its national space program, developing meteorological, telecommunications, and navigation satellites, as well as technologies aimed at lunar exploration. With state support, Chinese experts are implementing projects to explore asteroids and Mars. A Chinese space station is currently operational in orbit, promoting international cooperation. In 2024, China completed 68 space launches.
