In the 1000 days of the full-scale invasion, 52,214 babies were born in the capital, and 65,655 couples got married. This was reported by Mykola Povoroznyk, the first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, on his Facebook page.
Since February 24, 2022, 65,655 couples have tied the knot in Kyiv. Despite air raid alerts and missile strikes, 52,214 infants were born in maternity hospitals: 26,840 boys and 25,374 girls. Among the newborns, there were 933 twins and 7 triplets.
“For 1000 days, the aggressor country has been constantly shelling Ukraine with all possible weapons – strike drones, missiles, and artillery. Yet Ukrainians are fighting for their Independence, Freedom, and Liberty! Our Armed Forces defend our homeland from invaders daily. Medical personnel are saving hundreds of lives after shelling – for both military and civilians – and helping new Ukrainians come into this world. Utility workers eliminate the consequences of enemy attacks and continue their daily tasks regardless of the situation. Builders are restoring destroyed homes and social infrastructure. Educators share knowledge with children. Everyone must do everything they can! Everyone needs to put in maximum effort to bring Victory closer!” emphasized Mykola Povoroznyk.
He wished love and harmony to the newly formed families and health to the newborns and their parents.
