Ukrainians will soon have the ability to receive notifications about who is accessing their personal data in registries.
This was announced by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
"We are launching a notification feature in the Diia app so you can see who accessed your information in registries and for what purpose. The government has approved a decree to implement a data access monitoring subsystem in Trembita," the announcement stated.
If a Ukrainian's data is checked in registries, they will receive a notification about it in Diia. Each instance of access will be logged in the system.
For example, when a government agency requires your data to provide a service, an employee submits a request in the registry. Following this, the individual will receive a notification in Diia with all the details regarding the request.
However, notifications about data access will not be sent in cases related to criminal investigations, counterintelligence, anti-terrorism operations, or pre-trial investigations.
"A similar service is already operational in Estonia, called Data Tracker," the agency added.
