The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a new decree requiring new car sellers to provide buyers with official information regarding fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.
This decision is based on the EU regulations that have been in effect in Europe for over 20 years. It aims to provide buyers with transparent information about the environmental impact of vehicles.

According to the new requirements, car dealerships and other places selling new cars must have:

  • a label with fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions data next to each vehicle;
  • a poster or electronic display showing information about all models for sale;
  • promotional materials (brochures, advertisements, etc.) containing the same information;
  • access to an electronic catalog with official data.

Additionally, the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development will be responsible for creating and maintaining an electronic catalog containing information about all new car models. This catalog will be hosted on the ministry's website and updated annually.
The new regulations will take effect 9 months after the decree is published, allowing sellers time to adapt their processes and prepare informational materials, while the Ministry prepares the electronic catalog.
