Applications for social support can be submitted online through the «Diia» app.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, on Telegram.
She emphasized the importance of allowing every Ukrainian family to receive state support quickly and without unnecessary bureaucracy.
«We are changing our approach: instead of five different benefits, there will now be a basic social assistance scheme. This will enable families in difficult situations, including low-income households, single mothers, and children whose parents evade child support payments, to receive assistance more swiftly and easily,» Svyrydenko stated.
One can apply for this assistance online via «Diia». «It’s incredibly straightforward: just a few steps in the app and you will receive a calculation of your monthly benefit. If everything looks good, you submit your application. There’s no need to waste time gathering paper documents,» the Prime Minister emphasized.
Svyrydenko noted that the amount of assistance is calculated individually. The amount is tied to a basic figure that defines the minimum income per person in a family, which currently stands at 4,500 UAH.
This pilot project is set to last for two years. Meanwhile, the government is already working to make it a permanent initiative. «We have approved and submitted the relevant bill to parliament,» said the Prime Minister, expressing gratitude to international partners who assist in making social services more accessible.
It’s worth mentioning that the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a bill proposing to transform state social assistance for low-income families into basic social assistance starting January 1, 2026, and to consolidate various forms of state support.
