“Following the protest in Maliveld Park against immigration policy, at least 30 people have been detained,” the report states.
The mayor, Jan van Zanen, confirmed that “it can confidently be said” that there are 30 arrests, but the final number may be higher. He also mentioned that two police officers sustained injuries.
“Groups initiating the riots from various parts of the country deliberately clashed with police in The Hague. They were particularly violent,” van Zanen noted.
