Several European airports, including those in Berlin and Brussels, have experienced significant disruptions in their registration systems due to a cyberattack.
This information was reported by Spiegel.
Details: Berlin's airport stated that the attack was not directed at the airport itself but at a provider responsible for passenger services.
"Due to technical issues with our provider's system, used across various European countries, the waiting time for registration has increased. We are working hard to resolve the issue quickly," the press service stated.
Brussels Airport confirmed that it was also affected by the attack. Currently, only manual registration is available.
"We advise passengers to check the status of their flights with their airlines and arrive at the airport ahead of time," the administration emphasized.
Heathrow Airport in London also reported potential delays, attributing them to a "technical problem" with a third-party provider.
At this time, it is unclear which other European airports have experienced disruptions.
On September 19, two young men were charged in the UK with a cyberattack on a London transport company in 2024.
In July, UK authorities reported the exposure of a Russian military intelligence operation related to the use of sophisticated malware for cyber-espionage.
