A new miniature sculpture dedicated to energy workers has been unveiled near the Kyiv Opera House. Named 'Energy Heroes', this sculpture marks the 50th piece in the cultural project 'Seek!'.

The first municipal power plant began operations in Kyiv in 1890, ushering in a new era of city lighting. It illuminated the City Theater and Khreshchatyk Street, making them the first lit locations, while Volodymyrska Hill became a favorite spot for residents.

This sculpture pays tribute to the energy workers who provide light to Kyiv. Although the old power plant and theater are no longer standing, the memory of this transformative area remains, and the new sculpture is positioned there.

The sculpture features power lines shaped like energy workers, adorned with chestnuts on their chests. Additionally, there is a button that, when pressed, will make the sculpture illuminate.

“This sculpture is a gesture of gratitude to energy workers, especially during the ongoing war when their roles have proven vital,” said Yulia Bevzenko.

Location: facade of the Leonardo Business Center, Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street, 52
