About 8,000 Hasidim have arrived in Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. This was reported by the United Jewish Community of Ukraine on their Telegram channel.
Many pilgrims are still on their way, traveling from different countries to visit the grave of Rabbi Nachman. The UJCU noted that this week, enhanced security measures have been implemented in the pilgrimage area, including checkpoints where each pilgrim undergoes an introspection check.
As reminded by the UJCU, this year’s Rosh Hashanah celebrations will take place from the evening of September 22 to the evening of September 24.
Last year, according to the community, 33,500 Breslov Hasidim came to Uman for the celebration and pilgrimage for the Jewish New Year. This year, approximately 35,000 pilgrims are expected.
