In June, during protests against the Trump administration's immigration policy, the Los Angeles police fired over a thousand projectiles in a single day.

According to an AP report, the police's use of force report includes details about various types of non-lethal munitions used throughout several days of protests.

The report reveals that on June 6, police fired 34 projectiles at approximately 100 protesters. By June 8, that number surged to 1,040 projectiles aimed at around 6,000 individuals, including 20 tear gas canisters.

There were six reported injuries resulting from these actions.

It was noted that 584 police officers were deployed to the scene that day.

Researcher Josh Parker from New York University emphasized that controlling protests in this manner is fundamentally flawed.

California implemented restrictions in 2021 on the use of less-lethal munitions until alternatives for crowd control are explored. Police are prohibited from indiscriminately targeting crowds or aiming at vital organs.
