Poland has announced new air traffic restrictions along its borders with Ukraine and Belarus.

This was reported by Reuters.

«At the request of the Operational Command, airspace restrictions in the form of zone EP R129 will be implemented in eastern Poland,» stated the Polish Air Navigation Agency in an announcement late on Wednesday, September 10.

The restrictions are now in effect and will last until December 9. It is noted that flights in the restricted area are prohibited from sunrise to sunset, except for manned aircraft operating under flight plans with active transponders and maintaining two-way communication with aviation authorities.

During nighttime, from sunset to sunrise, there is a complete ban on flights, with the exception of military aircraft. Additionally, a 24-hour ban on civilian drone flights is enforced in this area.

As reported previously, Polish military forces shot down drones that violated Poland's airspace during the night of September 10.

One of the damaged drones was found in a field in the village of Chosnuvka near Biała Podlaska in the Lublin Voivodeship, while debris from another drone fell on a residential building in the city of Wyrki in the Włodawa County.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that NATO allies are facing a «massive provocation» from Moscow.

According to him, a total of 19 drones invaded Poland's airspace overnight, and three or four of them were shot down by Polish F-16s and Dutch F-35s.
